Manitoba Live Steamers and Model Engineers are a group of people who construct proportionally-scaled miniature working representations of full-size locomotives and full sized historical industrial engines. The “classic” area of model engineering interest are models powered by steam; typically steam locomotives, stationary engines, marine steam engines, showman’s engines, and traction engines. Join the club! More experienced members are keen on sharing their knowledge and skills with those with less experience, but who are eager to learn.

For 75 years, The EX has been the backdrop for countless memories – from first dates and engagements to unforgettable wedding photos. Now, in anticipation of our new wedding and event centre opening in fall 2026 (The Gallery), we’re taking the celebration one step further with Marriage on the Midway. On June 13, one lucky couple will say “I do” surrounded by loved ones, strangers, bright lights, joyful energy, and the magic of the midway.
