Tourism Scholarship

Three $1,000 tourism scholarships for Manitoba students are awarded annually.

These scholarships were made possible as a result of donations made from the former Tourism Industry Association of Winnipeg and Manitoba Festival and Events Industry Association, along with individual donors. The scholarships are administered by the Red River Exhibition Foundation.

Application Deadline: Second Friday in May by 11:59 pm

Application Criteria for Tourism Scholarship

  • A resident of Manitoba
  • A student entering or continuing in a hospitality or tourism diploma program at Red River College, Assiniboine Community College or Université de Saint-Boniface.

The vision-essay should contain: • Applicants biographical information • Why the applicant thinks the tourism industry fits their skills, abilities and holds prospects for the applicant as a career. This could include a short description of any volunteer or paid experience the applicant has. • What the applicant could contribute to the tourism industry and what the industry could contribute to the individual’s personal and professional growth.
