Every year, the Red River Exhibition Foundation awards scholarships and bursaries in support of the Red River Exhibition Association’s mandate to promote industry, commerce, tourism and agriculture.


AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD INDUSTRY

In 2001, the Red River Exhibition Association established the Agriculture Scholarship category in honour of the Farm Family of the Year. 

Farm Family of the Year

One $1,500 scholarship is awarded in honour of the Farm Family of the Year.

Two $1,250 scholarships are presented to applicants taking a recognized academic or vocational course.

Two $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a University of Manitoba agriculture student who is interested in studying outside of Manitoba and/or Canada.

In the honour of 50th anniversary of the Farm Family program, one $1,500 scholarship is awarded every year.

EDUCATION BURSARY

Two, $1,000 education bursaries for Manitoba students are awarded annually.

Reserved for candidates that are pursuing continued education in university or college with a focus on education (teaching). Considerations will be made for those candidates that are enrolled in an arts program with the intention to bridge into Education. These bursaries were made possible as a result of the continued support and success of the Red River Exhibition Foundation by its partners and operators.

INDUSTRY TRADE BURSARY

One $1,000 and one $750 trade bursaries for Manitoba students are awarded annually.

Reserved for candidates that are pursuing continued education in a recognized trades program offered by a college or professional trades facility. These bursaries were made possible as a result of the continued support and success of the Red River Exhibition Foundation by its partners and operators.

JOHN BLUMBERG SPORTS BURSARY

One $1,000 and one $750 Sports Bursaries for Manitoba students are awarded annually.

Reserved for candidates pursuing sports degree program in a variety of fields ie: sports medicine, kinesiology, PE teacher, physio, message therapy etc. etc. Viable candidates can also be pursuing a higher coaching level through a certification program and not necessarily though a university or college. These bursaries were made possible as a result of the continued support and success of the Red River Exhibition Foundation by its partners and operators.
