The Red River Exhibition Foundation was established in 1997 with a $100,000 contribution from the Red River Exhibition Association. This amount continues to grow with support from the industries involved.

The Foundation’s mandate is to provide scholarships to deserving Manitobans in keeping with the Association’s mandate “to promote industry, commerce, tourism and agriculture.” The Foundation now offers twenty scholarships annually for students to further their studies in the Aerospace, Tourism, Agriculture, Business and Creative Arts Industry sectors.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees, with support from the CEO and staff. The Red River Exhibition Foundation administration costs are paid by the Red River Exhibition Association and volunteer fundraisers. Through this volunteer commitment, the Foundation can guarantee that 100 percent of industry donations go directly to fund the scholarships.

In addition, once an industry sector is established, the Founding Donor would have the opportunity to nominate members to the scholarship selection committee for that industry sector. The Foundation Board is responsible for all costs associated with delivery of the scholarship program.

Scholarship Recipients – Red River Exhibition Foundation

Scholarships can motivate and inspire students to follow their education goals and reach their full potential. But you don’t have to take our word for it! Below are a few testimonials from some of the Scholarship recipients.

“The Red River Ex Foundation scholarships were super easy to apply to and there were many options available for many different university courses/career choices”

– Shaelyn Beswitherick
(Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame scholarship recipient)

“Applying for this scholarship gave me the opportunity to illustrate my community involvement as a rural student, as well as my altruistic beliefs, in great detail – not often do you see a scholarship intended solely for rural students, or for those who intend on empowering others in society. Having been a successful recipient of this scholarship, I could focus on my studies in agroecology without financial worry, which has undoubtedly aided in my academic success.”

– Emily Robb
(Manitoba Women’s Institute scholarship recipient.)
