 The Tourism Industry Scholarship will be awarded in the value of $1,000.00
The Red River Exhibition Foundation Inc. is accepting applications for a scholarship for Hospitality Tourism students enrolled in the Tourism or Diploma programs at Red River College, Assiniboine Community College or St. Boniface College.
The scholarship was made possible as a result of a donation made from the former Tourism Industry Association of Winnipeg. It is also supported by contributions from the Manitoba Festival and Events Industry Association and from individual donors.
The scholarship will be administered by the Red River Exhibition Foundation Inc. and the focus will be on students enrolled in the diploma program at the aforenoted institutions.
Criteria
Available to Manitoba residents wishing to enter or continue in the Hospitality /Tourism Diploma program at:
- Red River College
- Assiniboine Community College
- St. Boniface College
Applications must contain:
- Proof of successful completion of last level of education (Minimum Senior)
- Proof of acceptance to one of the stated Diploma programs
- Letter of reference/recommendation from at least one person (teacher, employer, community leader in tourism)
- A 150 to 200 word vision-essay containing the applicants biographical information as well as a description of some of the following:
- Why the applicant thinks the tourism industry fits their skills, abilities and holds prospects for the applicant as a career. This could include a short description of any volunteer or paid experience the applicant has.
- What the applicant could contribute to the tourism industry and what the industry could contribute to the individual’s personal and professional growth.

Scholarship Award Ceremony
The scholarship will be awarded on a Monday during the Red River Exhibition Summer Show. The successful applicant will be expected to be present, at the evening ceremony, to accept the scholarship.
